World's Sexiest Accents (VIDEOS)

Irish brogue, sultry Spanish, sun-splashed Australian or sizzling Brazilian Portuguese, some languages are downright sexy.

Those particular ways of speaking are even more alluring when coming from the charmer you meet while traveling the world—doesn't it always seem easier to fall in lust while on vacation?

CNNGo released their list of the twelve sexiest languages. Included in their roundup? Thai and Trinidadian.

We added a few of our own. The usual suspects are all here—French, Italian, English—but we've also included those sexy Scots (Gerard Butler, we're looking at you).

Might want to be a bit more specific with the title "Spanish" if you're going to choose a Mexican actor as the example. Listen to the clip above, and then find a clip of Javier Bardem to listen to if you don't know the difference.

I'll take an Irish accent any day. My husband is from Ireland and I've been listening to that beautiful accent for nearly 25 years, and it still sounds good.

I've found over the years that women outside the South are charmed by a soft, cultured southern accent. No, I'm not talking about Gomer Pyle but a Southern accent spoken by one who is well educated and polished. For example I never had a problem getting phone numbers in NYC or in other parts of the northeast. This includes Canada. Women in London were equally responsive.

French, Irish, and Aussie are all ridiculously hot.

But French is at the top of the list for me. A Frenchwoman could ask for directions, and it would still be extremely sexy.

It doesn't matter what the person looks like to me, just haveing an accent makes them "do"-albe to me, I fall asleep to the sounds of accents all around me....so yummy!!!!

It's interesting that the first few comments were about Irish accents.
This article makes me proud to be Irish and reminds me what a nice accent we have - north and south.

I think you are incorrectly linking "Impressed" with "attracted too".

I'm not "impressed" as in - I don't think they are any more intelligent, cultured or traveled. However, I am most certainly attracted to some of them.

LOL, that's true. Accent is not very important as long as it's audible, clearly spoken to be easily understood. If it's not your mother tongue and don't speak it habitually that's where you have heavy accent.

Toss out all the British and related accents and Australian. There is an obvious bias at work here. They grate on my ears. Especially the Irish. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not listening to a children's fairy tale.

However, I am a huge Torchwood fan, and I find the Welsh accent on that program to be delightful, but I wouldn't call it "sexy".

Not all Spanish accents are the same. To which Spanish accent are you referring. I have heard some Brazilian accents that are really sexy. About the only I agree with is French. Everything they say sounds dirty.

But, I would also say that it depends on the speaker, than the language, as to whether the accent is sexy.

I agree that the Russian accent should be on this "best" list! A very, very sexy and alluring accent! And what beautiful women! Just replay "Back In The U.S.S.R."!
