Al Qaeda Vows To Carry Out '100 Attacks' In Iraq To Avenge Osama Bin Laden's Death

BAGHDAD -- Al-Qaida in Iraq has vowed to carry out "100 attacks" across the country, starting in the middle of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, to exact revenge for the death of Osama bin Laden.

The terror group's statement was released on militant websites late Friday. It said the attacks will avenge bin Laden, who was killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan in May, and other slain senior al-Qaida leaders.

"By God's will, the campaign starts in the middle of the fasting month (of Ramadan) and ends by God's will after 100 attacks exactly," it said.

The statement said the campaign would include "varied attacks, including raids, martyrdom operations (suicide attacks), roadside bombs, silenced guns and snipers, in all cities, rural areas and provinces" across Iraq.

Monday marked the middle of Ramadan.

On that day, a wave of crushing attacks swept across Iraq – from the northern city of Mosul to the southern Shiite heartland. At least 70 people died in suicide bombings, roadside bombs and shootings in what was Iraq's deadliest day this year.

Al-Qaida did not explicitly claim responsibility for those attacks in Friday's statement, but the chaos is widely believed to be the work of al-Qaida in Iraq.

A little over a year ago, U.S. and Iraqi officials said the deaths of al-Qaida in Iraq's two top leaders in a raid had dealt a severe blow to the organization. The group has suffered from a drop in funding and just two weeks ago was calling on former members to come back to the fold, a sign of its diminished status.

But Monday's violence suggests that al-Qaida in Iraq has the ability to resurrect itself and still carry out vicious attacks.

Bin Laden could have and should have been captured or killed during the Bush Presidency, Laden was seen in the US Virgin Islands and was reported to the FBI, nothing was done. To learn why nothing was done, view the documentory titled "Bush Family Fortune; the best democracy money can buy". You will also learn that the GOP will stop short of nothing to win.

Judging by the accent used in writing this add on the cafeteria's door, it could be in Syria Jordan Yaman or a northern african country.

The beauty of the American situation in Iraq:

1- The average Iraqis don't like them because of the army's brutality with civilians. Many innocent people got killed driving their cars home. You can argue till morning I am just telling you how it is.

2- The Iranians and many shia obviously don't like them and those control the government and the future of Iraq.

3- The sunnies don't like them because they ousted Saddam who was sunni and thus made the sunnis vulnerable and threatened by the shia and Iran.

You want to stay there? be my guest :)

It was a waste for the American's to admit to killing Bin Laden. It would have more strategically effective to attribute the act to a faction of Al Qaeda. The admission tossed away another chance to foster chaos in enemy ranks while exposing the celebratory reactions of immature Americans to international audiences further degrading America's image. What a mess

Votes and approval ratings was the goal not military intelligence, unfortunately. Lack of experience, Obama and advisors. An international trial would have served best to expose terrorism.

And what about all the innocent people al queda would of kidnapped, held hostage and murdered trying to free bin laden?

I don't think they would of bought the al queda faction story after they saw the picture of the crashed chopper in the back yard.

Al Qaeda, in revenge for the killing of Osama bin Laden, will take time out from its busy schedule of attacking America in order to.... attack America.

Oh, they vow to attack. Is that something new? Could they have any more hate in their hearts then they did before bin Laden was killed? Hate and violence that is rationalized if not sanctioned by Islam.

I don't support any of the three monotheisims so don't call me a jew or a crusader.

Before bin Laden was killed, a Muslim Iraqi woman entered the Men's restroom and was asked to leave, because it is for men only.

She asks if Osama bin Laden is in the rest room and is told no.

She says, It's okay then, bin Laden is the only man left in Islam.

It's only a joke--it means nothing, Dr. Freud.

Amazing story. If this joke is from Iraq then it is not a joke. Such humiliation is used in the Arabic culture for motivation purposes. There is a an unwritten "law" or custom that is called "Nakhwa" it exclusive to men and means to sacrifice all in order to do the right thing no matter the outcomes. When Arabic women humiliate men in their manhood it is considered among the highest forms of ridicule.
I would take it seriously.

Please, these followers of the dog mohammad do enough to make themselves look like frightened little girls. Why else would they choose to opress their women but out of fear of them?

Comedy from Islam, the religion that was highjacked by a cult of death. It's just hysterical!

We will perpatrate100 attacks in Iraq. We don't care who we kill as long as we have 100 attacks. If non-combatants get kill ,oh well, it was god's will. He's responsible for all the evils we commit ,,not us.
Sincerely

P.S. We know this because there is no out cry from Islamic clerics through out the world.

So now it is official. We have a reason to stay in Iraq till 2100. If any invaders decided to take over Indiana or Kentucky for as long as we've been in Iraq, the violent toward the invaders would be far much worse. It's time to leave. We got out regime change, though not by any honest means. The funny part is that if the economy and our dysfunctional government continue to send the US into irrelevance and despair, the military may be more needed here than overseas.

And before the end of bin Laden, these guys were just peaceful goat farmers? They loved Americans and wished us well? The answer is that this band of thugs were going to do what they say they would do whether Osama was watching Jeopardy reruns now or swimming with the fish.

BS ,or Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position so as to benefit oneself.

As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda is often biased, with facts selectively presented (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political, or other type of agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare.
