Kim Kardashian Wedding Headpiece: Love It Or Hate It? (PHOTO, POLL)

We don't know if you've heard, but there was a wedding this weekend.

Someone named Kim Kardashian tied the knot with someone whose name also starts with a K and there was lots of news regarding who wore what, who was invited, how much it all costs and the like.

But all we could focus on, and all we can still think about in the aftermath, is one thing: Kim's diamond headpiece.

Seen in the preview video from E!, which will air the full Kardashian nuptial extravaganza as a two-part special on October 9 and 10, Kim wore part of her $10 million Lorraine Schwartz jewelry haul on her head. The strand of diamonds featured larger, teardrop-shaped diamonds hanging around the front, resting on Kim's bronzed forehead.

Definitely a different sort of wedding look.

Considering Kim doesn't tend to experiment with avant garde fashion, we were surprised to see such a not-trendy style walking down the aisle. White Vera Wang was to be expected, but seeing Kim stray outside conventional wedding trends was not.

But on the other hand, this is a girl who loves her jewels. The new Mr. Kardashian, Kris Humphries, truly outdid himself when he purchased Kim a colossus of an engagement ring that cost a reported $2 million. And even before the ring was bought, there was no doubt that Kim and her sisterly clan had already developed a love for very shiny things.

That said, what do we think of the blingy jewels draped across Kim's head? The piece looked quite silly, but we have to respect Kim for getting creative -- and channeling her heritage. A source told Us Weekly, "She looked very Armenian, like an Armenian princess," with the headpiece being a reference to her ethnic roots and an homage to her late father, Robert Kardashian.

For her fashion daring and her nostalgic nod to family, Kim's headpiece earns a "love it" vote in our book.

What stood out to me is that her bare shoulders under the diamonds rendered this wedding portrait lame. Never realized it before, but wedding dresses really should not be strapless. A hit of fabric near the shoulders or a unique design detail at the neck would have set off both the face and the head piece nicely, and would have been more visual and illusional.

I am happy for her and I think that she looked beautiful. I hope that she and Kris have a very happy marriage and a huge family. And I liked her headpiece. It looked nice on her.

Although I don't pay much attention to the family I think she would look beautiful in anything and if this is what she chose this is her wedding so she should be able to wear what she likes. Personally I think it looked very pretty but I don't understand that mother at all. She was all in white and trying to look like one of the sisters.

I am sure in 24 months this entire family will disappear a la Paris Hilton relegated to the covers of Turkish Vogue and such. Unfortunately I am just as sure that another reality nobody will surface to fill the void.

I wish that were true. We will be soaking up the Kardashians for at least five more years. We have Kendal's bar mitzvah (I know she's not Jewish), her first date with a basketball player, her pregnancy scare, her wedding, their kids. Kim is not like Paris. She's got her whole family in on this - it may never end.......

She didn't look anything like "an American princess" or an "Armenian". Unfortunately, from what one can see in a grainy, unfocused photo of her in her wedding gown, she looked like an overstuffed, fat falling out all over the bodice, overly made up, overly stuffed, reality TV star. She didn't look much like a bride, either. She looked like a TV star filming a scene. A woman should make the best of what her basic figure has and a dress in which she is, literally, falling out of on top, on a short, busty woman with a really big full skirt and that silly "headress" was not very flattering. But, if it's "showtime", I guess it worked. I find the whole affair to have been tacky and cheap, no matter how much was spent, but, since I don't follow the K family's antics and hardly know who or what they do other than titillate the public, I really don't care. I had to comment because there are no photos of this shindig other than that tiresome shot of that overly made up face, big boob top, and ridiculous "headpiece".

So-called "Celebrities" do not pay for these EVENTS, they get paid! Gowns, Headpieces, jewels,
etc. are usually on loan for promotional consideration. The fact that this Event was quoted at 10 mil
and netted over 15 should tell ya something.KK and Ryan Seacrest are dancing all the way to the bank with this "Big Fat Hollywood Gypsy Wedding"

Why are you all so negative????? Isn't anyone EVER happy for anyone else???? One of the seven deadly sins is envy! What a pathetic world we live in!!! Geez, just because she is beautiful and wealthy does not make her a bad person....I would guess that if she was a nobody, most of you would still have something nasty to say!

baileysno1lala . I agree. It was her wedding and she can do what she wants. I thought she looked beautiful. I don't really follow the family that much but she did it her way and that is what counts. And as mentioned this is Huffington Post and it is the most vitriolic place you can be sometimes if you sany anything nice.

Middle eastern? You need a geography lesson. She's of Armenian- heritage, Armenia being a former republic of the Soviet Union.

I meant Middle Eastern in terms of heritage, not country. People and culture there have heavy Middle Eastern influences due to ethnicity and cultures. I know all about the Turkish Armenian relations.

I don't think I ever clicked on an article about a Kardashian. I don't like Kim Kardashian. I don't like any of the Kardashians. I don't like reality shows. I don't particularly like the headpiece. But, she looked very beautiful at her wedding.
