Pauly D Is Too Good For 'Dancing With The Stars'

Pauly D Dancing With The Stars

Pauly DelVecchio is the only cast member that went into the "Jersey Shore" house with a legitimate career and might be the only one to leave the place with one. During a sit down with "New York Live" host Sara Gore and I, Pauly D divulged that he's earning more than $10k per night, DJing -- although he hopes the IRS doesn't catch wind of that. But the high price tag on Pauly's head means he won't be fist pumping on the ballroom dance floor anytime soon.

“I will do 'Dancing with the Stars' when my career dips," he confessed.

The high-hair DJ also revealed that if Snooki is a "Dancing" contestant this season, she doesn’t know about it.

“I texted her congratulations about doing 'Dancing,' but she texted back 'am I?'" Pauly tells me.

Pauly is happy to be back in Jersey after his fame-making show filmed in Italy last season, where, he is the first to admit, the cultural difference confused him immensely: “There are no tanning salons, which is a problem for me. The gym is an hour away and you have to carry your laundry because the streets are so narrow. GTL was a mess. Everything else was beautiful. You had to go to a nail salon if you want to go tanning.”

Still, no one is more surprised about the show's overnight success than Pauly.

“Just being on television blows my mind but the fact people watch it blows my mind.”

Mine too.

The fact that DWTS is linked with this person speaks volumes about both sides.

Dreadful! Hope they are smart and invest, it's a great opportunity for only that, save your coins and do something with it kids.

these folks do not represent anything at all about the true Italian American culture, these are caricatures and overblown stereotypes created by the media, just to entertain a very uneducated segment our population

Get in-line, the media prior to television has been promoting "caricatures and overblown stereotypes" of African Americans "just to entertain a very uneducated segment of our population" since the founding of this country. . . .

The Native Americans, Spaniards, Chinese, Irish, Japanese, Germans/Dutch, Italians and currently the Mexicans/South Americans have all been the cultural victims of our skewed media.

I don't find that lifestyle attractive whatsoever, but I have no dislike towards that cast. At the end of the day, it was just a few young adults that were offered money and fame to do what they normally would do...ok.. ok... as normal as you can be with a camera in your face. Anyway, if this show is detrimental to our social culture, I'd point fingers at the companies the actual responsible parties. Not to mention the fact that it's thriving because of viewers aka normal people. (hey. don't deny it. some of you have seen an episode, read a few articles, watched news coverage, etc on the GTL phenomenon.) Enjoy the money and fame, Pauly D. I know I would.
