Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith Split? Couple Separating: Report UPDATE: Couple Denies Report

Radar Online quotes a family member, who asked not to be identified, as saying, “No way are they splitting up. They are totally together and are not separating."

In Touch Weekly is reporting that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett are separating. Their reps have not confirmed the story.

The pair, who met when Pinkett auditioned for "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," married on December 31st, 1997. They have two children together, budding pop stars Jaden and Willow, and Pinkett is the step mother of Smith's older son from a previous marriage, Trey.

Speaking to YourTango in 2007, Pinkett described how they first got together.

"After we had known each other for many years, we went out for dinner one night with mutual friends and I saw that he had grown from this lanky kid to this really responsible man," she said. "We started courting each other and our friendship turned into romance."

In 2008, Smith spoke with Ellen Degeneres about their marriage, which he implied would last forever.

"What I found is divorce just can't be an option," he said. "It's really that simple. And I think that's the problem with L.A. – there are so many options. So a huge part of the success for [Jada] and I is that we just removed the other options."

Whether it was cause or effect is uncertain, but that dedication certainly coincided with an active sex life, including a romp on the way to the Oscars in 2010.

Speaking to Uptown Magazine in June, Pinkett said, "People think that Will and I don’t spend a lot of time together. Too much time, actually, if you ask me. It’s always nice to have a little time apart. Sometimes you need that.”

Celebrity envy strikes again! First, there's the desire to see this couple fall because "they can't possibly have it all!" If - IF - they are having problems: People outside of Hollywood get divorced, too. Rich people and poor people and middle-income people alike get divorced.

Come on folks...We have all heard it before if you remember....Bruce and Demi were "Happily Married" and Reese and Ryan were "Oh its only rumors...." and Brad and Angelina were "Just friends..." while he was married to Jennifer. When the dust settles we'll know for sure. These celebrities don't live in th real world. I don't know how any of them stay married for very long. They surround themselves with people who cater to their every whim so when they now have a SPOUSE who isn't doing just that...............well you know the rest.

Absolutely agree. It's funny how after all the denials when the smoke clears the public usually finds out the rumors were indeed true. I can remember when I saw a star getting interviewed on Arsenio Hall, she had spent months denying rumors. After the truth became public her exact words were, "I don't know how they do it, but the information that these magazines find out is ALWAYS true. Us celebrities deny it for as long as we can, but it's ALWAYS true."

No way they will break up. They have too cushy a lifestyle to give up. Plus, there's the children they're pimping. Every time you see Will Smith he has this plastic, cheesy grin. And like a poster said earlier, the children look like zombies in most photographs I see of them and Jada, who used to be very beautiful, looks kinda rough now. She's way too young to look that hard. I've seen both of their obnoxious, smart-mouthed children on talk shows. No manners at all. And I'm sure with all the attention given to the 2 youngest the eldest son from Will's 1st marriage feels as though he's being treated like a wet food stamp. There's something freaky-deaky going on in the Smith compound. It just hasn't come out yet. One can perpetrate for so long...

Scientolog­y is a haven for married gay actors and actresses in Hollywood. It's pretty much an open secret about Jada and Will and their separate laisons with the same sex. They have a sprawl in Malibu Canyon, far off from public view. There are so many "arranged" marriges in Hollywood for fear an actor or actress sexuality will be exposed it's not funny. Many of them hide under the guild of Scientology.

I bet Tom Cruise is glad the press isn't talkng about him! He's the biggest closet case there is. Oh wait,, I take it back, I hear Tom's lawyers coming up the driveway!
