Dick Cheney Reveals Secret Resignation Letter In Memoir 'In My Time,' Offers 'No Regrets'

Dick Cheney Resignation Letter Memoir

First Posted: 08/24/11 03:28 PM ET Updated: 10/24/11 06:12 AM ET

In his new memoir, "In My Time," former Vice-President Dick Cheney reveals that he had a secret, signed letter of resignation locked in a safe at all times.

"I did it because I was concerned that -- for a couple of reasons," Cheney explains in an interview with NBC's Jamie Gangel, scheduled to air on "Today" and "Dateline" next week. "One was my own health situation. The possibility that I might have a heart attack or a stroke that would be incapacitating. And, there is no mechanism for getting rid of a vice-president who can't function."

Cheney says he signed the letter in March 2001, shortly after entering office, and that the president and one of his staffers knew about its existence.

Cheney says he has "no regrets" about his support for waterboarding terror suspects, and that he would "strongly support using it again if we had a high value detainee and that was the only way we could get him to talk."

Cheney also tells Gangel that "There are gonna be heads exploding all over Washington" when the book comes out, but that he doesn't believe he is betraying former President George W. Bush's trust by revealing their private conversations.

The book is scheduled to be released August 30.

History will not treat Cheney well. He is a narcissist. He was too good to serve in Vietnam, and yet he sent innocent men and women to their deaths in a Neo Con fantasy to rule the world. He was one of the worst people to serve in the office of Vice President --if not the worst. Human life and suffering mean nothing to this man worm.

Dick knows he's not far from a permanent visit with his uncle satan and all he's doing is trying to keep what's left of his mind off of it.

How did that work? "If you don't drag America and her allies into a pointless, unwinnable war, bankrupt the treasury while enriching me and my personal friends, kill or maim thousands of soldiers and innocent civilians and destroy the moral authority of the country I'll quit."?

Hmmm, looking a bit old and unhealthy. Not so surprising what being evil will do to a person's lifespan...

Heartless Dick survived a lot longer than most with his list of issues. I wouldn't underestimate the power of evil in that....

“American's remember Dick. We all remember your warmongering. I am not a democrat or a republican. I have voted for both parties dependent on the options given. Bush was right to go after Al-Qaeda, you won't find many people on either side of the aisle that dispute this. But, the war in Iraq was propagated under false pretenses. The administration, with the help of George Tenant fabricated a scenario where "yellow cake" uranium had been sold to Sadam Hussein. They knew the information was not credible but they used it and sold it to the American people with a fervor rarely seen in any marketing plan before or since. Every single talk show for a week had some GOP'er saying these words, "do we wait for the ticking time bomb".... over and over. Colin Powell (the person with the most credibility at home and abroad) spoke to the UN and espoused this nonsense. Cheney had put so much pressure on the CIA to produce evidence of WMD's in Iraq -that they created it! Then they had the nerve to cut taxes while waging 2 wars. Something my grandfathers generation wouldn't have dreamt of. -Bush's was the most irresponsible presidency in modern history.

Cheney's revisionist history carries no weight with me.”

May he roast in Hell for the sufferings he caused to innocent citizens of the world. His demonic acts have caused irreperable damages to the image of the United States.

Let alone to read his book, I wouldn't even add it on a bonfire if it were to be offered free for burning for fear that the diabolic words in the book might polute the atmosphere with "sulfur".
