Randall Mackey Arrested: Ole Miss Quarterback Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Ole Miss QB Arrested After Bar Fight

Ole Miss quarterback Randall Mackey was arrested early Tuesday morning after a bar fight in Oxford, Miss., the Clarion-Ledger reports.

The junior was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and was released from jail around 9 a.m.

According to the Bastrop Daily Enterprise, the police report said Mackey hit a police officer in the lip. However, the quarterback insisted that he was pushed into the officer.

Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt announced on the radio after the arrest that Mackey would be suspended for the season opener against BYU. In his place, Barry Brunetti will line up under center, ending a three-way quarterback battle for the starting job.

ESPN reports that Nutt also revealed Mackey won't get many first-team repetitions when he returns to practice.
