PHOTOS: Recap Of Hancock's Appointments For The Week

It's been a busy week for Mayor Michael Hancock. He's appointed five people to his cabinet and launched Denver Education Compact, a team of education and community leaders meant to assess the needs of the community outside of the classroom. The compact, headed by state school board member Theresa Pena, is intended to help students succeed through collaborative efforts and is modeled on similar programs in cities like Boston and Los Angeles.

Hancock also picked Colorado Supreme Court Justice Alex Martinez to be the new Manager of Safety when he steps down at the end of October as well as filling three other positions.
