Speaking from Blue Heron Farm, where his family has been vacationing this week, President Obama took a break from taking a break to deliver an address on Hurricane Irene, now just hours off the coast of North Carolina and its tourist-friendly Outer Banks.

While the weather is still lovely in Martha's Vineyard, where Obama has been golfing with friends and biking with his family, rain has already started falling on the Carolinas, the Associated Press reports.

The president still plans to wrap his vacation on Saturday. This was the third year in a row he's vacationed on Martha's Vineyard.
