Humans and animals alike braced for and recovered from this week's natural disasters. Animals reportedly sensed the East Coast earthquake early at the National Zoo in D.C. and evacuees took preparations to care for their pets in anticipation of Hurricane Irene.
In unfortunate news for wolves, the Associated Press reported that a federal appeals court denied a request to halt wolf hunts in Idaho and Montana. In bizarre news, a dog ate $10,000 worth of diamonds -- fortunately, the diamonds were recovered and the dog was fine.
At the same time, great photos were taken of the London Zoo recording measurements of their animals, and, of course, many baby animals continued to frolic. Enjoy!
