With Logitech and Sony both having to discount their Google TV devices due to poor sales how much appetite is there really going to be with hardware manufactures to take further gambles?

Why? So you can sell our viewing data as well.

Tie that into the Google+ system where everyone has to fully identify themselves and you would be able to tie everything to an actual name. You'd also add in the Google search requests as well as the clicked links.
