Hurricane Irene 2011 Pictures: Submit Your Photos Of The Storm (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

First Posted: 08/28/11 10:16 PM ET   Updated: 10/28/11 06:12 AM ET

As Hurricane Irene, which on Sunday morning was downgraded to Tropical Storm Irene, continues to make its way north, causing flooding, power outages and even more deaths, those in areas the storm had already passed are finally beginning to survey the damage she left behind.

Huffington Post readers up and down the coast have been submitting their pictures of the storm, sending in images of flooding in Vermont and North Carolina, wind-toppled trees in Boston and the empty streets of Washington, D.C.

Do you have pictures or videos from Irene that you'd like to share? Use the "add a slide" button on the slideshow below and follow the directions to submit your pictures for consideration to The Huffington Post. Be sure to include your name, contact information and the location where you took the photo.

For the latest on Irene, but sure to read The Huffington Post's live updates.

Prayers sent from Alabama. Please be safe. We know what you are going through. The devestation we had in April was horrible. My prayer is for your safety and a lot less lives lost than we had. Be safe, take no chances.

All the best to those who are being devastated in New England. New York and the other big cities were spared a catastrophe, but New England must not be forgotten now.

Those pictures of Queechee, VT are typical of the flooding in my area, too, about 40 miles west. Those of you NOT affected by this hurricane, just don't get it. It's not just the areas in the direct path, but the areas in the outlying bands which got hit, too.

katy, not just a "spring storm," like so many were saying. It doesn't matter what it's called, it is taking lives and changing lives and this is not over.

Are you on high ground? I hope?

Stay safe! Too many have lost their lives.

Is it just me or does the lady in pic # 24 have very long arms? She looks as though she could grab her ankles without bending over.

heh, those army hummers look like little water beetles. While, testing just stopped on their water capability! Not sure this was necessary. Deep water means "deep water".
