'Apollo 18' Trailer Released, Movie Uses Real NASA Footage In Scary Scandal

You may think you know why we stopped making lunar landings, but there's always another narrative lurking in the great beyond.

According to NASA, Apollo 17, which rocketed off on December 17, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But, according to this newest horror flick, "Apollo 18," that's just what they want you to think.

Using archival footage, the Wienstein Production capitalizes on the mystery surrounding the NASA program, unearthing a secret mission in 1974 where something went disastrously wrong.

Fuzzy images and shaky shots throughout the newly released trailer give us goosebumps already.

Though, officially, NASA denies the existence of this tale, some believe it's the real reason we stopped making moon trips.

"Apollo 18" hits theaters September 2nd.

This was the worst movie I have seen in a long. long time. I knew it was bad after 15 minutes and it went downhill fast. Several people got up and left and I should have. The only good thing about it is that it is a short film. A huge waste of time and money.

Isn't this a slap in the face to all the brave men who risked their lives and those who passed away to get us to the Moon, let alone all the men and women who worked on the Apollo project? Bad enough you have the fools who think it was a hoax and that we never really went, is this really necessary? I think I know the next person Buzz Aldrin should slug.

Many people in the US are not smart enough to distinguish between fantasy and fiction, just look at the support the Republican Presidential Candidates get or 9/11 conspiracy theorist. Some people will think this is what really happened history and facts notwithstanding.

I look forward to hearing the explanation as to why the mission was a secret. I could understand if something weird happened once they got there and they had to cover it up, but GOING to the moon would never be kept a secret. I hope they explain that well enough in the movie.

I don't mind this site running these type of articles. But, please, there are people out there who will take you seriously when you go with the program. That final comment about "Though, officially, NASA denies the existence of this tale, some believe it's the real reason we stopped making moon trips." will act like a dog whistle to the tinfoil hat crowd (and Michelle Bachman who'll probably want to spend $$$$$$$$ going up there and cleaning up.
