
A woman was rescued by the coast guard after she was swept from the rocks on a beach on Rhode Island.
The AP reports that the unidentified woman was lifted by a Coast Guard helicopter roughly 500 yards off Narragansett Beach early Monday morning. A man was also swept into the water, but he was able to return to the shore on his own.

A Coast Guard representative told CBS Boston that the woman was lucky to be alive.
The rescue comes a day after Hurricane Irene caused massive power outages in Rhode Island.
