Jessica Simpson Launches Fine Jewelry, Diamond Collection

Diamonds Are Jessica Simpson's Best Friends

Jessica Simpson has previously said that shoes are her best friends, but her high heels may need to move over: now, Jessica's got diamonds.

Women's Wear Daily reports that the pop star-turned-fashion mogul will be working with diamond merchant Firestar Diamond as the supplier's first celebrity license.

Simpson's line of jewels, the Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend collection, will retail exclusively at Zales.

Set to hit stores in October, Simpson's collection will include necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings ranging from $79 to $999. The materials? Gold, silver, diamonds or some combo thereof.

Fine jewelry is just one more fashion frontier for Simpson, who already has apparel, accessories, shoes and fragrance lines to her name. Altogether, the celeb's lines earned $750 million in sales in 2010 and are on track to bag a whopping $1 billion next year.

As New York noted, "To put that figure in context, it means Jessica Simpson is doing roughly the same volume in sales as Michael Kors."

It's all part of Simpson's ascendance, rising from one-time pop star and reality TV queen famous from mixing up chicken and tuna to a wildly successful style entrepreneur. Solidifying her spot as a legitimate member of the industry, Simpson was tapped to serve as a mentor to competing contestants on NBC's "Fashion Star," TV's latest fashion design show.

We hope Jessica brings her bling along.
