15-Year-Old Longmont Boy Allegedly Stabs Father Over Punishment After Not Doing His Chores

15-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Stabs Father Over Chores

On Monday evening, a 15-year-old Longmont boy stabbed his father six times after becoming angry over being punished for not taking out the trash, according to Longmont Times-Call.

9News reports that the boy was upset when his cell phone was taken away. He went into a shed in his home to retrieve an ax and used it to break down a bedroom door in search of his cell phone. When he couldn’t find the phone in that room, he grabbed a knife and threatened to slash his father’s car tires.

But when the teen’s father grabbed the boy in a bear hug in an effort to restrain him, the boy reached around and stabbed his father in the back six times, according to 7News. The father survived the attack, was treated for his injuries and has already been released from the hospital.

Police say that the boy has a criminal history of minor offenses.

CBSDenver reports that the teenage boy was arrested and faces multiple charges including first-degree assault with intent to cause bodily injury, felony menacing, reckless endangerment and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
