'Dancing With The Stars' Refuses To Cast 'Real Housewives' Ladies

Real Housewives Banned From Dwts

"Dancing with the Stars" assembles a group of celebrities to send out on the ballroom floor each season but what's one gaggle of famous folks you'll never see doing the Cha-Cha? "The Real Housewives."

"They have no interest in having any of the ladies on the show," one "Dancing" insider tells me. "Season after season the housewives pitch themselves to grace the dance floor and season after season the show says thanks but no thanks."

Back in 2009, Bethenny Frankel made it clear that she would love to appear on the show -- she even attended a live taping and sat in the front row. However, after all her campaigning and stunts, no offer came.

"They never made Bethenny an offer," a friend of the Skinnygirl tells me. "She went to the show with a friend of [host] Tom Bergeron's who was kind enough to get his pal-plus-one two front row seats next to the head of ABC. But even that couldn't get her on the show."

Real Housewife of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice, was trying to get on the show last season and this season Paris Hilton's aunt, Kim Richards, would have loved to do the show but was never asked.

"Initially everyone assumed the 'Housewives' had been asked but Bravo had not allowed them to do a show on another network. But now it is clear Bravo would love its franchise to get exposed to 20 million viewers. However, they are just not welcome at the dance," an insider tells me.

A spokesperson for Bravo confirmed no offers to any "Housewives" talent have ever been made and ABC did not respond to requests for comment. However, they shouldn't feel alone. One "American Idol" winner tells me "Dancing" doesn't want anyone from "Idol" either.

But they are happy to have Kate Gosselin? Go figure.

DWTS will take on other reality Audrina Patridge (VH1), Mike "the Situation"(MTV), Kate Gosselin (TLC), Jake Pavelka (ABC) but not a Bravo RH? Hmmm, seems like TV network politics at play....Bravo is a NBC sub. Gotta be something stupid cuz come on let's get Sonja Morgan on there! or Adrienne!

Maybe theses ladies weren't freaky enough for Dancing with the Stars?

Anymore, DWTS "celebrities" are the professional dancers themselves! These exceptional professionals are able to mold lumps of non-famous individuals (many of whom are unable to speak in complete sentences) and magically turn these losers into Cinderella-isk dancers. Think about the past. One-legged dancers, computer geeks, fatty patty people, political losers, so on and so on. While these obviously publicity starved non-stars put in long, gruesome hours.......and we rant about them for a month or two.....we CAN feast our eyes on the likes of Maks and Derek and marvel how the costume department creates such spectacular clothing which hides most of the flaws of those "celebrities".....which I simply refer to as DANCING PROPS!! Derek can dance with a broom and it would be fantastic (of course, the broom would have to have a fluffy, featherly costume! :)

They should cast them for "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader?"

That so-called woman who goes ape-s-h-i-t on others for no good reason, flipping tables, calling women "who-a's" while chasing after them thru restaurants and outside in parking lots while trying to physically attack them...Not only does the State of Jersey have a legend about a Pine Barrens swamp devil but now thanks to that peice of work, they are also known for the New Jersey Gorilla, too.

Interesting that they would court all of the controversy over Chaz, but refuse the housewives. I applaud that they won't take them, but think the really need to create a clear set of standards by whickh they choose who competes. One being that the person is actually a celebrity who has done scripte TV or films, had a recording career, or been a fsamous writer, jornalist, or something like that. They definitely should not choose someone who is is only famous for being famous or who is piggybacking fame off of a famous relative with no career of their own. that being said, Chaz was obviously chosen for shock value to bring up sagging ABC ratings, just as J.R. Martinez was chosen to bring back soap fans angered at the recent cancellations of All My Children and One Life to Live. ABC has faced boycotting, rallying and backlash in recent months over their current programming decisions. My advice is leave the ABC/Disney rat to it's own game and watch something else! We don't need them telling us what or who we want to see on our TV screens!

Could not have said it better. I stopped watching when Bristol Palin got to fourth place. She was not a celebrity and she can not dance. The show is simply a popularity contest. It has very little to do with dancing ability. I don't have a problem with Chaz but he really isn't a celebrity so I agree that he is on the show for shock value.

Under 30? Don't talk to me.

Chaz is more of a celeb than a Katoosh brother.

I have no problem w/Chaz.

She was the prettiest, little girl on TV ever ... well, next to Tabitha ("Bewitched").

This show no longer has standards.

Works for me! I hate these biatches! The whole lot of 'em. And yeah that's right, I'm a woman and called them that.

You are so much nicer that I am...I dislike the whole bunch of them...They are all so fake, and phony. They are worse than junkies needing that fix of Botox.
