Lost iPhone 5: Apple Employee Reportedly Loses Prototype In Cava22 Bar

Lost Iphone 5

CNET:

In a bizarre repeat of a high-profile incident last year, an Apple employee once again appears to have lost an unreleased iPhone in a bar, CNET has learned.

The errant iPhone, which went missing in San Francisco's Mission district in late July, sparked a scramble by Apple security to recover the device over the next few days, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

Last year, the unreleased iPhone 4 was bought by a gadget blog that paid $5,000 in cash. This year's lost phone seems to have taken a more mundane path: it was taken from a Mexican restaurant and bar and may have been sold on Craigslist for $200.

Anyone who frequents this neighborhood is smart enough to leave valuables at home. Cava22 gets crazy busy on weekends, makes descent drinks, but don't be surprised if fights erupt and chairs start flying.

This is either lame marketing ploy from Apple or the not so bright Apple employee and security guards should be fired.

Is this credible?
Seems this is some different from this one: www.ifunia.com/news/will-this-be-the-new-iphone-5/

to borrow georgeW immortal words:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Apple must think I'm stupid to fall for this marketing ploy again... Anyone know where I can find that craigslist ad? I must have it!!!

Politicians...they ruin everything.

Someone tell Apple marketing it only works once.

On a side note, it is obviously evolutionary, not revolutionary, as whomever found it thought it was just another iPhone when he listed it on Craig's List.

This story is getting almost as annoying as using the horrible program known as iTunes.

Spent about 4 hours helping a friend get their iTunes library back, after a hard drive crash. They made a backup of their iTunes library but Apple apparently wants to make life difficult to restore lost data.

Typical Apple fanboy. Still doesn't change the fact that iTunes is a crappy program.

I should have added this was before Apple fixed their iTunes backup issues, it shouldn't be so hard to restore files from a backup disk.

Again? Stop using bars for new product lunches, and visit AA.

Apple's engineers have a drinking problem. You know you need to stop when you loose your prototype left and right.

The police should investigate Apples marketing department for - filing false police report. re last stunt. Its one thing to rock a borish ploy for free advertising (isnt most "news" some form of advertising these days?). Its another thing to waste police time trying to sell a lame lie.
