The European film industry, often a minor competitor against the Hollywood machine, appears to be gathering steam with a new crop of films premiering at the Venice Film Festival. In the video below, watch clips from the latest works of directors like Roman Polanski and David Cronenberg and actors like Keira Knightley and John C. Reilly, who have all worked on recent, high-profile European productions.

Will these films translate in America, or are will their success remain largely on their home continent?
