Melanie Brown: Kids Should Not Hinder Your Life

Melanie Brown: Kids Should Not Hinder Your Life

The birth of a baby girl may have been scary for Melanie Brown's husband, Stephen Belafonte, but by the time last night's arrival was ready for her debut, the former Spice Girl already had two under her belt. The new baby is the couple's first child together; Brown, 36, is also mom to daughters Phoenix, 12, and Angel, 4.

"Finally our baby arrives, Stephen nearly passed out, Phoenix screamed, I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!!" Brown tweeted. "She is just sooo amazing!!"

Despite having her hands full as a wife, mom and reality TV star, among other things, Brown told PEOPLE magazine that kids should not hold you back. "I've always said that kids should enhance your life, not hinder your life," she said. "So I just try to make the most out of being with my kids. You have to have a life for yourself somewhere in the mix of being a wife and mum," she added.

Following the birth, Brown even made time to show her husband some love, tweeting: "@Stephenthinks1 I didn't think it was possible but I love you even MORE now honey, we have a truly amazing family xxxx."

The couple waited four years to have a child together (they wed in a secret ceremony in 2007), announcing the news to Hello! earlier this year. "We're really thrilled. We wouldn't have planned and waited for four years to have a baby if we weren't excited and ready for it," Brown said, according to E! Online.
