'Melancholia' Trailer: Kirsten Dunst In Lars Von Trier's Apocalypse Film (VIDEO)

Kirsten Dunst's Apocalypse Wedding Story: A Peek Inside

Following a press conference that nearly sentenced the film to a public death before it could even hit theaters, Lars von Trier's end-of-the-world "Melancholia" will get another chance to wow audiences at the upcoming Toronto International Film Fest.

Providing the eccentric director doesn't crash the fest, it will do just that.

It went nearly forgotten that Kirsten Dunst won Best Actress at Cannes, where the film debuted earlier in the year, thanks to von Trier's bizarre deadpan "joke" about being a Nazi, understanding and sympathizing with Hitler and Israel being a pain in the ass. Cannes later banned von Trier for the statement, despite his apologies. Nevertheless, the film was a bonafide success with critics, and as it comes closer to a US theater date, a new trailer has been released.

The film features Dunst and Alexander Skarsgard as a couple that gets married just as a catastrophic, world-ending meteor named Melancholia is headed to earth. Beautifully shot and uncommonly meditative, the film brings out the performance of her career, and could put Dunst on Oscar shortlists. The film hits US theaters in limited run on November 11th.
