Time-Lapse Video Of Rebuilding The World Trade Center At Ground Zero (VIDEO)

As the 10th anniversary of September 11 approaches, it's easy to think of Ground Zero as a place frozen in time. But work on One World Trade Center — the centerpiece of a redeveloped downtown that will include a transit hub, a memorial to the victims of the attacks and more office space than many say the city needs — has already pushed the tower into the skyline, visible from miles north along Sixth Avenue.

For this video, HuffPo Travel booked a 17th-floor room at the Millenium Hilton, the oddly named hotel directly across from the 16-acre site. Shot with a Canon 60D and Canon T1i over the course of the day, a frame taken every five seconds, it captures masses of commuters, frenetic construction crews and the rhythmic motion of clouds over the Hudson. As night falls, the tail lights of a seemingly endless stream of traffic illuminate the West Side Highway.
