Olsen Twins Expand Their Empire To Include Superga Sneakers

Next Up For The Olsen Twins: Sneakers?

The last time we heard from the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley revealed that they're hoping to open boutiques for their luxury label The Row.

But today's Women's Wear Daily reports the sibs have other plans for their fashion empire: namely, signing on as the creative directors of Italian sneaker brand Superga.

Apparently Steve Madden (who's owned Superga's North America license since February) tapped the twins after spotting them wearing the sneaks in a meeting a couple years back.

Madden previously collaborated with the twins on footwear for the Olsens' Elizabeth & James line.

The sisters tell WWD they want to bring the century-old brand back to its luxurious roots.

"At first, Superga just needs to start off in the right stores and be on the right people’s feet," said Ashley Olsen. "We look at a million opportunities a day; it’s very personal for us."

However, their proposed price point for the kicks is just $60–$150. We were expecting a number much higher, given that these are the same ladies who brought us the infamous $35,000 backback.
