Artem Gomelko Fail: FC Torpedo Zhodino Goalkeeper Allows Terrible Goal (VIDEO)

EPIC FAIL: Goalkeeper Allows Embarrassing Goal

Here's the latest addition to what's fast becoming a vast library of "Soccer Fails." Today we present Artem Gomelko, goalkeeper for FC Torpedo Zhodino, who made an embarrassing mistake in Monday's match against Dnepr Mogilev.

In the 68th minute, Dnepr defender Anton Matveenko lofted a long, speculative lob from about 70 yards out. As the ball sailed, it drifted to the keeper's left. Gomelko casually approached the ball as the wasteful shot was clearly going out of play wide of the net. But, inexplicably, the goalkeeper nonchalantly reached out with one hand, presumably to keep the ball in play and avoid a goal kick. But he accidentally knocked the ball into his own net.

Unlike Andre Guardado's midfield golazo that, despite catching the keeper unawares, was always bound for the net, this goal was conjured from nothing by the man whose task it was to protect the net.
