Jackie Collins Says Good-Looking Women Can't Get Elected

Jackie Collins: If Clooney Ran For President, He'd Win

Jackie Collins is known for her verbose and scandalous writing on sex and Hollywood in the 400 million novels she has sold. However, get the legendary author and actress talking about politics and you will find that what she has to say is far more shocking than anything she writes.

“Obama was voted in by the way he looked,” Collins tells me while promoting her new book Goddess of Vengeance. “I don’t think he’s experienced I think he is very arrogant and I don’t think he’s done a great job like everybody else.”

But that doesn’t mean she’s a fan of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin either.

“I was about to vote for John McCain, and he plucked her out of nowhere and then it was off,” she confesses.

So, are looks really that important when it comes to whom we elect?

“For women in politics it’s a detriment but for men in politics it’s very important,” Collins tells me. “They do not want to think about having sex with a woman in politics but they do want to think about having sex with a man in politics and if George Clooney ran tomorrow honey, he’d be in there!”

After 27 New York Times Best Sellers Goddess of Vengeance is on shelves now.
