Obama Bumper Sticker Led Massachusetts Cops To Accused Shooter

In some neighborhoods, supporting President Obama can really get you in trouble.

Jurors in a Massachusetts murder trial learned Wednesday that the alleged killer's Barack Obama bumper sticker led to his eventual arrest, the Boston Herald reports.

Parole officer Kevin Devlin noticed the sticker on suspect Edward Corliss' white Plymouth Acclaim during a 2009 meeting. At the time, Corliss was on parole after serving part of a life sentence for a 1971 murder, according to MyFoxBoston.

“It struck me as odd,” Devlin told the Suffolk Superior Court, knowing that Corliss lived in a generally conservative community.

“He’s a guy from Somerville, so I was surprised he was supporting Obama,” Devlin said. “I made a joke about it. He said 'It was on the car when I bought it'.”

Corliss is accused of murdering 39-year-old Surendra Dangol.
