Lawrence O'Donnell: Republican 'Lynch Mobs' Almost 'Lost To Reality' (VIDEO)

O'Donnell Decries GOP 'Lynch Mobs'

Lawrence O'Donnell decried what he called Republican "lynch mobs" on his Wednesday show.

O'Donnell -- like his MSNBC colleague Rachel Maddow -- was troubled by the cheering reaction of the crowd at NBC's Republican debate when moderator Brian Williams mentioned to Texas Gov. Rick Perry that he had put 234 people to death. (That number has since climbed to 235, and could climb to 236 on Thursday.)

O'Donnell used this reaction to say that Republicans think government "gets everything it tries to do wrong, except when it tries to kill people." He then widened his discussion to include Perry's assertion that the stimulus created no jobs, something O'Donnell said was patently false and made Perry a "liar." However, he said that GOP voters would not mind, because the party was close to becoming "lost to reality forever."

O'Donnell concluded that "the good Christian Rick Perry will continue to be cheered by the lynch mobs in the Republican presidential debate audience who don't seem to know that Christianity was founded on the teachings of a man who was unfairly put to death by government."
