Rosie O'Donnell: Estrogen Helped Calm My Rage

Rosie's Surprising Rage Revelation

She has less than a month to go before the premiere of her show on the Oprah Winfrey Network, and Rosie O'Donnell credited estrogen hormones for making it all possible.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, O'Donnell said estrogen enabled her return to television. "I think I had a lot more rage than I was aware of, but I've gotten back access to my other feelings, I'm not cut off from my emotions any more," she said. (Portions of the interview will air on Friday and next Tuesday.)

Oprah Winfrey recently enlisted O'Donnell to help her revamp her young television network, and handed O'Donnell her former Chicago studio on Thursday.

O'Donnell revealed that she is banning Piers Morgan from her show because he banned Madonna from his CNN program. In July, O'Donnell told the Television Critics Association that her show would take on a different format centered around just one celebrity each hour.

O'Donnell also admitted that she is still getting used to her huge role next to the former queen of daytime. “I'm still nervous when she calls,” she said. “Like backstage, they're like ‘Oprah's backstage. She's come in from Hawaii to introduce you in this.’ There's a moment when I walk in and go ‘Get your s--t together, O'Donnell. It's Winfrey. Come on. Kick it up a notch.”
