Gwyneth Paltrow Emmys 2011 PHOTOS: Hit Or Miss?

Gwyneth Paltrow put that famously toned bod to good use with what seemed like a two-piece ensemble by Pucci on the 2011 Emmys red carpet.

The 38-year-old star rocked the black, sparkly look with her signature straight blonde hair and some simple makeup.

If anyone could pull off the belly-baring outfit, it'd be Gwyneth, who can accomplish anything she puts her mind to (daring fashion and "Glee" cameos and country music movies alike).

Ms. Paltrow actually modified this Pucci dress (part of the Spring 2012 collection) by having a nude tulle panel placed around the midriff. The designer's original dress showed a bare midriff. I think Ms. Paltrow looked great, as always.

I realise I'm in the minority here, but I actually quite like it. Plus, I saw pictures of this on another site and she looked amazing. Here, it doesn't do the dress or her any justice.

She's got a great body and works hard for it but I think ladies reaching 40 should reserve the mid-driff for the beach.

This could have been a gorgeous dress, the black lace with the nude underneath is a totally hot, totally interesting, different, and beautiful look. It just lays wrong and hits her at an unflattering place. It would have been much more flattering and even hot-to-death if they had dropped the waist of the skirt down just a tad and moved the front hem of the top up snug under the bust. The way this is cut is just wrong.

I'm sorry to say, as rocking as her 38 year old body is, the dress could have been much better. The tulle netting on the edges and the various random loose threads make it look as though it's falling apart and cheapens it. Had the dress been one solid piece (no midriff baring) with the same cut out back and no tulle, she'd have looked far more stunning.

I intensely dislike her but there's no denying that she looks awesome. Great figure. She could have worn dozens of dresses that only a few can. But she chose one that makes her waist disappear and she looks figureless.

I love the idea of it, but it just didn't work out. The tulle around the borders needs to go, it takes away from a streamlined look, which is needed to pull that dress off. She still looked very pretty though.

It's not tulle fabric, tulle fabric is what petticoats are made out of, veils, etc... None the less this is not a good look for her.. agreed..

Okay.....I am getting tired of Gwyneth. Everywhere. Articles on what she ate this morning, her in a bathing suit, in a dress, another dress, walking, sitting, combing her hair, Gwyneth, Gwyneth.....dull......so dull.........
