AMHERST, N.Y. — A van crashed into an upstate New York burger restaurant over the weekend, killing a husband and wife, and injuring their son and a waitress.
Buffalo media outlets report that 52-year-old Kathryn Bennett of Wilson died late Sunday morning from injuries suffered when the van crashed into the suburban Buffalo restaurant.
Wilson was eating Saturday night at Cheeburger Cheeburger in Amherst with her 56-year-old husband Joseph and their 13-year-old son Matthew when the van jumped a parking space curb in front of the building and smashed through, pinning the Bennetts and a waitress against a wall.
Police say Joseph Bennett was killed, and the boy and the waitress suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The 74-year-old woman driving the van wasn't injured. Police say their investigation is continuing.
