Tord Boontje: Inside The Dutch Designer's World (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: The World Of Dutch Designer Tord Boontje

If you're not familiar with Dutch designer Tord Boontje, you're in for an unexpected treat. Widely known in the design and museum worlds for his elaborate floral cutouts, which can be found on his furniture, lighting, textiles and more, Boontje channels more than just a touch of whimsy for his wild designs, to say the least.

Whether it's a light fixture that's entangled in a beautiful garland of ivy made out of metal or a strangely (make that very strangely) intriguing garden bench that seems as if it's ensnared in vines, it's clear that in Boontje's world, the mysteriously alluring and oddly pretty always wins.

Needless to say, we're huge fans of Boontje's delicate designs, which have been picked up by retailers ranging from Swarovski to Target. And while we're pretty sure some of his pieces, like his crystal-studded branch chandelier, will never make it into our apartments, we're admirers of his vision and craft and we've rounded up some of his best -- and most surprising -- works over the past decade. Take a peek into Boontje's world below.
