Samantha Cameron Throws A London Fashion Week Party (PHOTOS)

With an enthusiasm that in the US would probably invite some criticism (because Americans are all uptight like that), the UK's First Lady Samantha Cameron dove headfirst into London Fashion Week, attending numerous shows alongside editors, seated in a coveted front row spot.

To wrap off the week of shows today, Sam Cam threw a reception in honor of London Fashion Week at 10 Downing Street. The event was attended by some of fashion's biggest names: Tom Ford, Anna Wintour, Suzy Menkes, Topshop's Philip Green, Henry Holland and Poppy Delevigne, to name a few.

SamCam happens to be an ambassador for the British Fashion Council so it would be rather strange if she hadn't attended any of the shows, and hadn't been seen to be supporting fashion week in any way.

That said, she HAS been criticised here for the party she threw at 10 Downing St last night.

BTW, the Queen is first lady, not SamCam.

Personally I’ve always thought London fashion that much more daring than fashion here in NYC. Yet on the flip side I’ve always thought that New Yorkers as individuals are more daring and assertive in disposition than just about anywhere in the world.

Suzy Menkes looks ridiculous. If a woman who wasn't well known within the fashion industry wore that exact look and hair, she'd be laughed off the street. (as well she should be)
