Before developing a workout routine, you need to have a grasp of the five basic motions involved in nearly every exercise: pushing up, squatting, lunging, twisting and pulling. Celebrity trainer Brett Hoebel shows you how to master these primal movements (and how not to do them) so you can get the most from your workout.
As the founder of Hoebel Fitness and trainer on NBC’s The Biggest Loser: Season 11, Brett Hoebel is one of the most sought-after weight-loss, nutrition and lifestyle coaches in the country. His integrative philosophy and body-mind approach come from his diverse experience in Eastern and Western disciplines, including his martial arts training in Afro-Brazilian capoeira and Muay Thai kickboxing, as well as his educational background in functional strength training, nutrition, yoga and holistic health. He was a pre-med student at Claremont McKenna College, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major in psychology and biology. He later furthered his education taking graduate courses in biomedical science at Rutgers University.
