As The New York Observer notes, "It’s September, so galas are back in full swing" and Tuesday night New York's high society sauntered down the red carpet at Cipriani 42nd Street for the 2011 New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala.
Celebrities guests included Serena Williams, Georgina Bloomberg, Rachel Roy and Ivanka Trump. Basketball star Carmelo Anthony was honored for work he's done with at-risk youth.
New Yorkers For Children's work focuses on addressing the needs of children in foster care. According to their website, "NYFC has developed programs that make a difference in the lives of young people including college scholarships, tutoring programs, job training, and networking opportunities."
