Rosie O'Donnell Promotes New Talk Show, Disses 'The View'

Rosie O'Donnell: My New Show Will Be Fun, Not Like 'The View'

She’s back. On Monday night, Rosie O'Donnell hosted a benefit that raised over $1 million dollars for Rosie’s Theater Kids, an arts education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts. And although the TV host was being very nice she was still a little naughty.

“Its going to be fun like my old show -- not 'The View,'” O'Donnell tells me about her new gig, "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. And although she does admit that her new boss still makes her nervous, she says she couldn’t be happier.

“I’m too afraid to fight with her,” O'Donnell said. “I was about to sign with NBC. She flew to my house. Oprah walked in with 500 people. My daughter, Viv, said our house never looked this fancy.”

Acting as the evening's live auctioneer alongside the event's biggest supporter, Z100's Elvis Duran, the two of them worked the room. They even got two people in the crowd to bid over $75,000 each for four premium seats to this year’s Jingle Ball and VIP tickets to O'Donnell’s new show -- she promised to throw in dinner and sex if the bidder was cute!

So how is O'Donnell getting along with her new boss, Winfrey? She says just great!

“I would never fight with Oprah. Beside, Gail would kick my ass,” she told the crowd to cheers before adding, “Now Elisabeth Hasselbeck…”
