Stefanie Dickinson, Ellicot School Board Member, Has Been Arrested For Sexting A 14-Year-Old Boy (UPDATE)

Police have arrested a school board member for sexting a 14-year-old.

The sexts were discovered by the victim's sister, who became suspicious after witnessing Stefanie Dickinson, 37, hugging her brother multiple times. Dickinson is a sitting board member and treasurer of Ellicot School District-22, near Colorado Springs.

7News reports that Stefanie Dickinson plans to resign at a special Ellicot school board meeting Friday night.

Before the suspicion of Internet luring of a child charges were brought upon her for sexting a 14-year-old boy, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports that Dickinson, treasurer of the board, had been fighting a recall over concerns of poor fiscal oversight, teacher retention rates, and disappointing state test scores. The recall election will still take place even with Dickinson's expected resignation, due to Colorado law requirements in a recall election.

EARLIER:

Deputies told the Colorado Springs Gazette that they believe Dickinson had been texting the boy since he accompanied her, her husband and two sons on a camping trip to Lake Meredith in mid or late August. After the trip Dickinson allegedly asked the boy for his cell phone number so that she could send him photos from the trip, but the arrest warrant says that Dickinson texted him that she wanted to sneak out of the house to meet with him.

Other text messages found on the boy's phone said, "I just want u," and on Sept. 2 they got more explicit. In the message, Dickinson talks about having sex and texts, "Baby I will rock ur f***ing world!"

In another message Dickinson's text reads, "You can't tell anyone about this at all because I could lose my family."

A report cited by KDVR says that the boy told deputies that he felt uncomfortable, and says in the arrest warrant that she would frequently come to his football games and "would always tell me I have a sexy smile".

Dickinson posted a $3,000 bail, and is due back in court next week.

if she wanted to have relations with a younger guy go for a 21 year old it's legal and she won't be labeled a sex offender. I think guys dream of being with their hot teacher but the reason it's different with a girl is because girls are usually pressured by guys to have sex and guys are willing to do it even if it's wrong just to see what it's like.

Okay, so what in the hell is going on with all these women and men trying to either have sex or a relationships with our children? Why do these older women (with families of there own) feel that it is alright to sext or have sex with minors? I wonder how these SEX OFFENDERS would feel if someone of there age was trying to have sex with one of there own children! Why are our schools not checking more on who is teaching our children? And if, the schools have let a few OFFENDERS slip thru the cracks, Why are they not creating some kind of preventive measures to stop these teachers from violating our children?

I Know a woman in her late 40s that was screwing her daughters and sons freinds, that were between 14 and 17, she was just not happy in her marriage, plus they had a open marrage at the time. She did say it was a mistake doing there freinds to me later on, but the freinds had come on to her and she went for it. I am sure she flirted with them also, she is just that way, very open, and will say things to hint around or come right out and say it jokingly. Now she sticks to men her own age, or closer to it. This stuff happens all the time, more than we know I am sure. I will say this case though, if it wasn't for the sister telling on her and him, he wouldn't have ever said a thing about it,except to his buddies.This is every 14 through 17 year old boys wish come true. It is wrong, but if it was a man that did it, it would much bigger news! And rightfully so, a dubble standard just the same. Give the cougar a break, we don't know what is going on in her home, Her hubby might not give her any, Some couples have no sex and stay together, usely the kids. So don't judge till you know the whole story. Sex is Sex and everyone wants and needs it. In this case, She just didn't use her head.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I really feel sorry for these women. Boys that age are one big hormone and I bet they all were willing participants. Then they get caught and they get to play the victim while the teachers get to go to prison.Even my boyfriend told me that he used to sell weed and sleep with his high school art teacher. Frankly it really disturbs me, but he seems to be pretty proud of it. I'm not saying it's right, it's just a bad idea all around. I was that age once and the high boys are cute, no doubt. But as a 34 year old women, around the age as a lot of these ladies, I just can't see being so hard up for intimacy or sex that you cross that line. Go pick up a guy at a bar or something, for Gods sake and leave the children alone ! And these boys should at least have the common sense to realize that this is not ok behavior. Why are these boys even having sex at all ? Where are their parents ? I like younger guys to, but this is ridiculous. (I actually was quite amused by the Mary Kay LeTourneau slide. Her lover and his mother filed a suit against her, yet he repeatedly kept in contact with her and they actually ended up getting married after all her prison time was done and he was of age. )

I remember that tornedeau (sp?) was analysed by a psychologist who said she was immature.
Many of these women are married. You would wonder what the relationship with their husband is like. Maybe they married men who were more fatherly and made the decisions for the family.

What I'm not understanding is why Mary Kay Letourneau spent, I believe, 7 years in prison for having sex with her 13 year old student (when she was 34-35), and these women who are clearly offenders, don't seem to be garnering the same type of punishment. The Letourneau situation was a shocker when we all heard about it but I do find it extremely interesting that they endured and still remain together to this day. Not saying I undersand any of it, but I do find it rather interesting. Now, of course, her husband is 26-27 and she's 47-48 - no big scandal now. It is a fascinating story in many respects, although most definitely wrong at the time.

Well.......the romantic side of me would like to believe. Granted, the beginning was highly inappropriate but, yes, it is amazing. And she actually looks pretty much the same so in terms of appearances, they've caught up to each other. At this point in their lives, who's to say, right? As long as they're happy.
