Keith Olbermann Begs Bill O'Reilly To Quit Over Taxes (VIDEO)

First Posted: 09/22/11 09:35 AM ET Updated: 11/22/11 05:12 AM ET

Keith Olbermann begged Bill O'Reilly to carry out his threat to quit his show if his taxes are raised.

Olbermann used his Wednesday "Worst Persons" segment to highlight what he called a "festival" of outsized O'Reilly behavior this week. First, there was O'Reilly's statement that he has "more power than anyone other than the president." Olbermann said O'Reilly had broken the "megalomaniac's oath by revealing just how nuts he is," and noted that when O'Reilly boycotted France during the Iraq war, "the nation's business activity with France increased."

Then, Olbermann turned to O'Reilly's Tuesday comments, in which the Fox News host said that, if his taxes are raised above 50 percent, "I don't know how much longer I'm going to do this."

"Quit the show?" Olbermann said. "Quit teasing us like that! Jump! Jump!" He added, "at least we finally understand the president's tax strategy: get Bill-O to quit."

All this whining about higher taxes by the rich. Pullleeeez-give me a break (from you whining)

Top marginal rates were 70%-90^% durng some of the nation's most prosperous economic times. Today the top rate is 35%. Undoubtedly most of the con sympathizers don't know this fact.

Come to think of it, they probably don't even understand the concept or marginal tax rates. Not to mention the 4.2% tax break (6.2% until this year) that those over $106k get.

Just goes to show you what happenes when cons decimate education funding.

Yes Bill-"O" quit!

Then You and "Lonesome Roads Beck" can live in the same "Spiderhole" in Palookaville, thinking up and writing about:

All sort's of "Trash", that can appear in the Local Supermarket Tabloids on a weekly basis.

you know, the one's that contain stories of:

Alien Invaders from Tau Ceti arriving next week, or the Lock Ness Monster was seen walking on Dry Land in Downtown London at Albert Embankment or "I Used To Be a 'Big Foot'" till I used:

"XYZ Brand Hair Remover"

I'm so happy Keith is back on TV. The only thing I miss is the set he had before looking out on Rockefeller Center. I used to just love to see the changes of the seasons and how the sunset times went earlier and later. But it's good to have him back. He put things together for me for years, giving me facts and background on issues I didn't get elsewhere. I'm happy he's now on Current where he has the freedom to cover whatever subjects he wants without pressure to tow the corporate line at all. Very cool. And his ongoing feud with O'Reilly is still pretty funny. I'll still never understand how anyone can watch Billo. He's obviously putting everyone on with this crap. He doesn't believe it. You can see it in his face! Amazing how so many are fooled. He's doing it for the money and having a ball at the expense of his viewers. And he's doing it live! ;)

I am particularly pleased with the assortment of "guests" which Keith brings to our attention. From comments made on the show, I am convinced that the politics of many were not welcome on NBC.

True, he's got a lot of people who had been on his earlier show and for some reason had stopped making appearances.

Poor Keith - His show was at the bottom and his new show cannot gain any traction. He gets angry, spews hatred and wonders why nobody watches him??? What a pathetic soul
06:18 PM on 09/24/2011
Is that right? No one watches him? I beg to differ.

When you can't defend against his opinions, the only thing left is to resort to attacking ratings. THAT is what is pathetic.
07:33 PM on 09/23/2011
Olbermann's just getting worked up over the thought of being able to capture.0001% of what would be former O'Reilly viewers, thereby quadrupling his nightly audience.

BTW Keith, Dish Network just bumped your channel even higher in the lineup. And for the record this time higher isn't better. Now I think you are going to be right in the middle of the latino music stations.

That's like competing in a popularity contest in a psych ward. Why would anybody want Bill-Os viewership ? The dull and the insane are a dangerous audience to cater to.

O'Reilly doesn't get it. The whole point for raising taxes on the wealthy was to make sure they pay their fair share. He never addresses the inequity of the tax rates. If he thinks he deserves a low or non-existent rate on the basis of being a "job creator" then he is just hiding behind his employees. I, for one, cannot understand how the low and middle incomes earners in this country can possibly throw their support behind the GOP when they have made it clear that they have no problem with them paying more taxes then they do.

Fair share is total Community Organizer Talk. Obama read and learned "Rules for Radicals" well but they are not working anymore, since it will not work in a democracy.

There are many John Galt libertarian paradise places in the world and I suggest Bill and the Subway tycoon take up residence where wealth is power and they can live far beyond the long arm of democratic government imposed tax rates. Somalia, Cali, Juarez, Kabul, Iraq. No government. No regulations. no gun control. No FDA, no EPA, no nuisance lawsuits. GOP elephants in paradise.

Yep.... and I keep suggesting secession. They could build a fascist theocracy in the old confederacy.

Keith Olbermann mad at O''Reilly? Oh MY!!!!!!!!!!!
11:52 PM on 09/24/2011
Olbermann is not mad at Mr.O. He is just so jealous of him that he cannot contain himself .
Olberman can't tell the difference between the party of Lincolin, and the party of Southern Slave owners.Hence, the Southern Democrats born on the backs of "free" labor.
