Neil Patrick Harris: Professional Slut

Neil Patrick Harris just received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so if you're looking for a career in showbiz, it would behoove one to take his advice. Even if it starts with the headline: be a slut.

The "How I Met Your Mother" star features on the cover of the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly, offering up his Hollywood survival guide. The secret, he writes, is saying yes to everything.

"It's good to have a lot of once-in-a-lifetimes in your lifetime. If you get the chance to skydive, go skydiving. If you're offered a part in a weird Shakespeare play in San Diego, slap on some tights and rock out some iambic pentameter," he advised. "If you're offered the opportunity to have a swastika painted on your ass, glitter on your nipples, and to simulate sex with a man and a woman behind a curtain, go for it... provided it's Cabaret on Broadway and not in some dude's basement."

Harris has certainly made a career out of taking chances. In fact, much of his resurrection in Hollywood can be traced to the hilariously creepy turn he took in the first "Harold and Kumar" film, which made NPH a household term and the actor a cult hero. On the back of "HIMYM," he'll feature in four this year: the big screen adaptation of "The Smurfs," the next "Harold and Kumar" movie, the romcom "Company," and "Beastly."
