Casey Anthony Ordered To Pay Another $120,000 To Florida Investigators

Casey Anthony Ordered To Pay Another $120K

Casey Anthony's bills keep growing.

One week after a Florida judge ordered Anthony to pay nearly $97,676.98 for costs related to the investigation into the disappearance of her daughter, Caylee, Judge Belvin Perry revised his ruling to require the 25-year-old to pay an additional $119,822.25.

The amended order filed this afternoon covers expenses incurred by the Orange County Sheriff's Office -- the agency that headed up the search for Anthony's daughter Caylee.

According to the order, Anthony is responsible for reimbursement of the expenses because she "provided false information as to the location of her daughter" and made "other misrepresentations to law enforcement."

On July 5, a jury of seven women and five men acquitted Anthony of killing 2-year-old Caylee, but found her guilty of lying to investigators. The child's remains were found in December 2008 near the Anthony family home, some six months after she was last seen.

During her first-degree murder trial Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, said Caylee had drowned in the family swimming pool. The revelation was in direct contrast to previous statements Anthony had given police, saying her daughter had been kidnapped by a nanny. Because Anthony misled police, officials say thousands of dollars were wasted on search efforts and the investigation into Caylee's death.

The original order, dated Sept. 15, gave the sheriff's office additional time to submit expenses because their initial reports were not adequately broken down. The revised expense reports that were subsequently submitted "complied with the court's directive," according to the amended order.

Combined, the two orders -- which include debts to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the State Attorney's Office -- leave Anthony owing a grand total to $217,449.23.

It's not clear how Anthony will be able to pay the debt. Anthony's attorneys have said she is broke, but pundits claim she can expect big payouts from media appearances or book deals.
