HuffPost Arts' Haiku Reviews is a weekly feature where invited critics review exhibitions and performances in short form. Some will be in the traditional Haiku form of 5x7x5 syllables, others might be a sonnet or a string of words together. This week Peter Frank, and George Heymont give quick takes on theatre and visual arts from Woodstock to Los Angeles. Is there a show or performance that you think people should know about? Write a Haiku with a link and shine a light on something you think is noteworthy too.

HAIKU REVIEW: Because I have always thought of A Delicate Balance as an "American Goyische Tragedy," I was curious to see how Edward Albee's dama would unfold in the 150-seat Alafi Auditorium with its three-quarter thrust stage (as opposed to a standard, 1,000-seat proscenium-style theatre). With no fourth wall offering any protection -- and the performers almost in the audience's laps -- the result is a much greater sense of feigned intimacy, mounting insecurity, and panicky loss in a totally dysfunctional upscale suburban family. This is a great cast in a great production of a great American play. Don't miss it!
