Michelle Obama Hangs Out With LeBron James (PHOTOS)

Michelle Obama went from sporty to sophisticated on Saturday, starting the day with Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play.

A typical Nickelodeon event, Worldwide Day of Play featured plenty of gack as well as the requisite Nick star guest appearance, this time in the form of Victoria Justice. But there was a special surprise: LeBron James! The Miami Heat star joined the First Lady to teach the kiddies about the importance of fitness.

But by night FLOTUS ditched her yoga pants and zip-up and donned a black glittering ensemble for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Phoenix Awards dinner in Washington, D.C.

With her husband in black tie, Michelle wore a long sequin skirt by Michael Kors and a black tee cinched with a Peter Soronen corset belt, accessorized with chunky black bracelets and a sparkling necklace.

While we don't love Obama's very "mommy" off-duty attire (flared sweatpants, Michelle? Really?) we adore this creative black tie look.

We also, for the record, adore the super cute pic of LeBron hugging the First Lady. Truly adorbz.

When was the last time a First Lady had her own PAGE in a national news outlet's coverage? Never. She is elegant and eloquent and brings attention to our military families, education and health, as well as women's issues around the world. Thank you Mrs. Obama!

I heard from someone who was at the dinner where she wore the black dress that there was an audible collective gasp when she walked on stage. She looks absolutely stunning. Love everything about this look. She is a modern wife and mother who does us all very proud indeed.

There is so much hate directed at one of the most gracious women around. The only word to really describe it is jealousy, tinged with a bit of racism. Its really sad that some people choose to waste so much energy being negative for no reason, because they are so unhappy with themselves. Get a life people.

Where do you live? The First Lady is not huge, she looks fine for a woman that is almost 6 feet tall. And I bet she has better arms, that still look ladylike than 75% of the men on here.

Michelle looks stunning in her evening outfit and it also looks like she has lost weight. I've noticed her looking slimmer in previous pictures and she does look terrific in whatever she wears. Personally, I find she is an excellent First Lady, is involved with the health of Americans (much as the Fox News people make fun of her), and is very much involved with military families, along with Jill Biden. More than any other First Ladies who've been in the White House in many years and gets very little thanks and admiration for all she does. I thank you, First Lady Michelle Obama and keep up the good work.

The "flared sweatpants" are actually yoga pants, very common workout/casual attire for some in lieu of traditional sloppier looking sweats.
Since Michelle was at an event focusing on activity and play, the pants were a good choice. The criticism is a bit rude, it's not like she was at a dress event. The important thing about style is to dress for the occasion, which she did.
