Bob Schieffer Talks Gwyneth Paltrow Crush (VIDEO)

Bob Schieffer celebrated twenty years at CBS last week, and he had quite some interesting stories to tell about his crush on Gwyneth Paltrow and how CBS accidentally gave him his job.

"Well somebody asked me if there was anything I would do if I was guaranteed that I would not fail and I said, 'Well yeah, Gwyneth Paltrow,'" he told the Hollywood on the Potomac blog, adding that he hoped Paltrow knew he was just joking. He called Paltrow, who he had met and taken his picture with at the Country Music Association Awards in 2010, "terrific" and "a very sweet young woman."

It's not the first time the "Face the Nation" host -- who meets country music stars in his adventures with his own band, "Honky Tonk Confidential" -- has joked about his crush. Earlier this year, he called Paltrow "one of the tallest beautiful women that I know."

Schieffer described his illustrious forty-year career at CBS News, which began when he "literally walked in off the street" in 1969 after trying to get a job at CBS News for five years. To his surprise, he was ushered in by a secretary and got a job. Later, he realized that he had walked in on someone else's interview appointment (Schieffer called the man years later, and found out that he went on to enjoy a long career at NBC).
