'Dancing With The Stars': Kristin Cavallari Is Out Of Her 'Element'

Kristin Cavallari: 'I'm Out Of My Element' On 'DWTS'

Kristin Cavallari may not have any prior dancing experience, but "The Hills" star still pulled off an impressive debut on last week's "Dancing With the Stars" premiere, wowing the judges and the audience alike. In an interview with MTV News, the reality starlet credits her success to her grueling dance schedule with pro partner Mark Ballas.

"Mark and I have been rehearsing since 8 in the morning, which Mark's not very happy about," the reality television star told MTV News. "But it's been a good day. We're getting a lot done. We've been here for five hours almost, so we're a little sweaty, but it's been fun."

Cavallari, 24, earned a 19 out of 30 for her cha cha on last Monday's "Dancing With the Stars" premiere, keeping her safe, but she's a little more nervous about her quickstep, which she'll debut this week (Sept. 26).

"I don't have any dance experience, so this is very new for me," Cavallari confessed. "I'm out of my element here. The only style of dance I would do is like bop around at a club [laughs]."

Ballas is also intent on helping Cavallari build up her beach body physique. "We're working on core muscles, trying to get those abs rocking," said Ballas.

Los Angeles Lakers' Ron Artest -- who recently changed his name to Metta World Peace -- was the first to go this season. The new episode of "DWTS" airs Monday night (Sept. 26) at 8PM ET on ABC.
