'South Park' Behind The Scenes From '60 Minutes' Overtime (VIDEO)

WATCH: How 'South Park' Is Made

Trey Parker and Matt Stone understandably did a lot of talking about their Tony-winning musical "The Book of Mormon" during their interview on "60 Minutes" Sunday night, but this clip from 60 Minutes Overtime gives us the behind-the-scenes look at "South Park" we've been craving since last week.

Steve Kroft joins the staff for an afternoon in the Culver City, California studio where the show gets written and animated each week, and sits in the writing room while an episode is hashed out.

All 216 episodes, which have a six day turnover rate from conception to airing on national television, have been made in a nearly identical process over the show's 15 year run. In fact, the most significant changes have come as a result of technological upgrades. While the first "South Park" episode was made by hand with paper cutouts over a three month period, Parker and Stone can now finish a scene at 2 p.m. and have it fully animated and ready to go by 7 p.m. Computers!
