Vicki Reveron Finds Bad Word On Her Starbucks Cup (VIDEO)

First Posted: 09/27/11 05:14 PM ET Updated: 11/27/11 05:12 AM ET

A formerly loyal Starbucks customer found something unexpected on her cup of morning mud.

New York City native Vicki Reveron told WABC that the word "bitch" was scrawled across the cup she was served at the 8th Avenue and 35th Street Starbucks.

"It says b--ch, my name is not b--ch, it's Vicki," Reveron said.

As you can see from the image below, the cup clearly does not say "Vicki" (though maybe it says 'Bith'?

A Starbucks spokesperson told WABC, "We have apologized numerous times for this unfortunate misunderstanding." Or maybe this was a retaliation for Alec Baldwin calling one of their uptown barristas an "Uptight Queen"? (Probably not).

Those apologies won't convince Reveron to keep going to the coffee mega-chain. She said she's switching to the competition.

The b--ch cup controversy comes just days after a former employee was fired for posting a rant song criticizing Starbucks coffee consumers on YouTube.

One of the lines from the song takes on a foreboding tone given Reveron's experience:

Hey Mr. A**hole/six breakfast sandwiches?/I got a line of angry customers/to hell with this/you've got a gang of noisy kids/can you shut them up/I just want to draw a middle finger on your cup.

Perhaps it's a good thing Reveron didn't order six breakfast sandwiches...

To all Starbuck employees, I am really sorry you have to put up with these abusive customers!

This is what America's been reduced to, your employer actually apologizing for your not taking their abuse in stride. It's just a part of the disgusting corporate greed at everyone's expense.

I don't even see an "h" in that - I think it was another name written there, someone else's cup and she's making a big stink about it. There are SO many foreign and "different" names these days, it could be ANYTHING! Or Maybe SHE even wrote it, I don't put anything past the public.

Can't comment, don't know the lady.

But wait: she is a "native New Yorker". They use stronger swear words for casual greetings over there.

Boy, that's what I would do if I found a bad word on my coffee cup - run right to the media and get my picture on TV so the whole country could see. I would claim my rightful 30 seconds of fame. Then I would sue the SOBs for 30 million dollars for pain and suffering and for humiliating me on national tv.

How rude! I suppose Starbucks believes their reputation will survive this.

It looks like it could say "Rita". I also wouldn't be surprised if "Vicki" took someone else's drink. Maybe "Vicki" was being a female dog and thought she deserved the moniker.

Regarding Starbucks. I also do not believe that a tip is required when you stand in line and order overpriced coffee there. I tip only when i honestly feel the barrista is super charming and a sweet person who remembers what i drink. I beleive that speaks for itself. I dont tip when they roll their eyes are cold ,think they are too cool for you because they have tattoos and have a know it all attitude because they are in their 20's and barely started to fruck!. lol like they know everything in life. I dont understand these people they have a decent job. No real responsabilities and they get benefits. so many people dont have benefits working part time. so u make coffee at least you are not cleaning bm all day like some nurses or working in the hot sun all day like construction workers I think this generation feels entitled and the truth is they need to appreciate that they are working because so many people are not. Also, if you do not learn to take the good with the bad and still perform you will not succeed at any job. Those sweet dream jobs that pay plent of $$$ and are all good and fun times are like fairy tales in this country.

You are, of course, correct that a tip is not required, but as a former barista for over 10 years, I can tell you that they ARE appreciated. The behavior of the bad baristas you mentioned is intolerable and managers should be aware of it. My personal goal, every day, was to make people smile, especially people who seemed stressed (regardless of tip). And, I am a senior citizen, not a "too cool, tattoo laden, know-it-all"; I can say that I worked with a lot of great "kids", who I would be proud to have as my own. Sorry for your bad experiences.

@ deborahjoybrat, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She even said she made light of a barista's mistake. They happen! Even if she was rude, you don't do that!!! It's disgustingly unprofessional! I'm a loyal Starbucks customer, but I will NEVER do business at that location! And to the baristas and food servers out there, I don't envy you. I've worked in that position before, and I've encountered all sorts of characters! Kudos to those of you who handle bad situations professionally!

I'm sorry, I've experienced rude customers as well, but that barista should be fired immediately. That's crossing the line.

She was probably rude to the cashier. Then she calls the local news station? Guess she needs attention.

barista : "good morning, how are you ?"
customer : " tall coffee !"

This is what we encounter EVERYDAY !

it's too hot,
too cold,
too foamy,
too light,
too strong,
too much room,
too long,
blend it twice
extra hot
183 F
200 F

and my favorite : half soy, half nonfat !

seriously here's a hint for you, the customer : do not mess with people who make your food !
it is kind of a golden rule in the food service industry ...

This is interesting. I went into Starbucks last week and the server had a _cross in black marker pen on her upper arm. I half jokingly asked her who had crossed her off their list. She answered: "My boss".

Weird..

Yup, only brainwashed weak IDIOTS would drink coffee at all, especially from $tarbucks. I've never came close to drinking coffee in my life and dont plan to. (and im not a Mormon or Amish either)
