Dan Johnson Home Run: Rays Pinch-Hitter Ties Game In Bottom Of The Ninth (VIDEO)

Rays Pull Off Stunning Comeback With Clutch Homer In Ninth

Two outs, down 7-6 in the bottom of the ninth and the Rays down to their last strike, pinch-hitter Dan Johnson delivered the miracle his team so desperately needed. Yankees reliever Cory Wade threw a pitch that hung right over the plate and Johnson crushed it down the first base line. The ball crashed into the foul pole and just like that, the Rays tied the game. Johnson, who was batting a mere .119, pumped his fist as he rounded first base, while manager Joe Maddon appeared to be in disbelief.

The Rays didn't stop there. Just after the Orioles came back in the bottom of the ninth to upset the reeling Red Sox, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th to clinch the AL wild card.
