'Glee' Season 3, Episode 2: Unicorns, Babies & New Casting Decisions? (VIDEO)

Major 'Glee' DRAMA

If you've written off 'Glee,' you may want to start tuning in again because FOX's musical comedy is starting to resemble its former self -- when the kids were still underdogs and we actually cared about them as characters.

This week on 'Glee' there weren't any flashy musical numbers, and all three songs -- yes, only three -- were Broadway standards. It seems like 'Glee' is heading back to the basics.

It's audition week at McKinley High, and everyone wants to be the lead in the school musical, "West Side Story." Kurt wants to play Tony -- but so does his boyfriend Blaine (awkward!). But Blaine being the best boyfriend ever, decides to let Kurt go after the role because it's his senior year. There's only one problem: the directors -- Coach Bieste, Emma and Artie -- think that Kurt is too feminine for the role of former gang leader Tony. You mean they didn't think Kurt's performance of "I'm the Greatest Star" was manly enough?!

Unfortunately for Kurt, Blaine's up next, and Darren Criss just gets more charming every week. His performance of "Something's Coming" was perfect for the role of Tony -- and the directors know it -- but what about his promise to Kurt? Dun, dun, dun...

The honeymoon might be over for Klaine because there's going to be a new gay character that's going to shakeup Kurt and Blaine's teenage romance. Let's face it Klaine fans, no couple is that perfect! Young theater actor Grant Gustin will play Sebastian, a gay Dalton Academy Warbler who's got a thing for Blaine, reports TVLine. Poor Kurt, it looks like this just isn't shaping up to be his season.

Meanwhile, Idina Menzel's Shelby is back -- and so is Beth (aka Puck and Quinn's baby). So that's pretty awkward for Quinn, who's trying out this new tough girl phase, but that's not all of the mother-daughter drama -- there's more!

If you dont remember from Season 1, Shelby is Rachel's birthmother. It's pretty awkward for Rachel at first, but once Shelby convinces her to sing "Somewhere" for her Maria audition, mother and daughter share a beautiful duet.
