Jason Alexander Steps Out With Hair (PHOTOS)

It has come to our attention that George Costanza has hair.

While we don't normally keep such close tabs on George -- er, Jason Alexander, the New York Daily News pointed out that recently, the famously bald "Seinfeld" star has been sporting an actual head of hair -- when only three months ago the actor was as bald as ever.

What gives?

"I am experimenting with some interesting hair systems. Don't be shocked if you suddenly see pics of me with more hair than usual," Alexander tweeted on July 21.

Yesterday the surprised reactions from fans and media spurred Alexander to post a longer explanation via Twitter, in which he said:

What you see on my head is a really good, semi-permanent hairpiece. By semi-permanent I mean that I can wear it constantly for weeks at a time, if I so choose. I can swim, shower, work out -- whatever. It stays on. Or I can take it off any time of any day I choose. The reason it looks thin is that I challenged my designer to make me a piece that would look very similar to the way I did 10 years ago. So, it looks like a guy who is losing his hair and isn't an artificial mop of hair that I never had.

Alexander's not ready to start saying who made it or get into any sort of endorsements, he writes, but that "it's honestly no big deal for me and hope it's not for you either."

Fine by us -- that's one damn good hairpiece. Below, see Alexander on June 4 (left) and September 22.

It's not the first time he's worn one.
Does anyone else remember him in "Bye Bye Birdie" with Vanessa Williams?

I prefer the look sported by Johnny Gan, star of Thai TV:

Will make for hilarious fodder should "Curb Your Enthusiasm" decide to incorporate the Seinfeld cast in the next season....Larry's gonna be pissed that Jason isn't a "Bald American" anymore....might use his new looks to try his hand at Cheryl again lol

Good for him, looks good!

But if REALLY wants to look hot, he should try the Jason Statham look. Skip the toupee, shave the existing real hair down to fuzz and grow matching 5 o'clock shadow facial hair.
Oh and, maybe lose just a few pounds, just to make the "rugged" bones in his face more stand out more. And wear lots of black.

FREE Image advice, Jason baby! You're welcome!

He has thick hair in his horseshoe area. If I were him I would get a NW 1 look. What is he thinking? He WANTS to look like he is balding? This makes no sense to me, a 23 eyar old, who has a receding hairline.

That's just sad.

I have no idea why you would think that is sad.... he looks great! People cut their hair, dye their hair, shave, wear makeup, exercise, trim their nose hairs, get tattoos, piercings, etc... If it makes someone feel better about themselves or helps them express themselves - why should you care? We decorate our homes to make them the way we like them - why not take care of ourselves and present ourselves in a way that makes us feel good?! That doesn't change who we are on the inside...People often judge based on outward perceptions - why not give ourselves an advantage?!

Its his head, and he can do what he wants with it. It looks good on him.

The man makes his living based upon his appearance for roles, and he will add or take away hair pieces as needed. If it makes him feel better about himself, good for him as well.

You are right, leftyirishwoman:

He has had to wear a wig for some roles; now he can just be himself without a Donald Trump on his scalp.

Good for him for using common sense and not going with the Elvis Presley look right off the bat. Very natural looking.

It actually looks decent. But that's the rub. We KNOW he's already bald, so this just seems odd.

Maybe it would look better if he just shaved off what he already has, ala Bruce Willis.
