Jennifer Lopez's New Home In The Hamptons (PHOTOS)

Jennifer Lopez Hamptons Home

First Posted: 09/29/11 05:54 PM ET Updated: 11/29/11 05:12 AM ET

Jennifer Lopez is definitely moving on after her divorce from Marc Anthony.

She's moving 3,000 miles away, in fact -- far from the Los Angeles home she once shared with her former husband, to a massive manse located in the Hamptons.

The New York Daily News first broke the news that Lopez was considering buying a home in New York priced at $17,999,999.

The 14,000 square foot home was designed by architect John Laffey and built by Richard Perrillo of East End Builders, according to the official listing. Located in Water Mill, the two-acre property faces Mecox Bay and features seven bedrooms, nine-and-a-half bathrooms, and a pool. Other luxurious details include limestone floors, a bathtub carved out of marble, Venetian plaster walls, and even an elevator.

People.com confirmed the sale yesterday and notes that the Hamptons are familiar stomping grounds for both Lopez and Marc Anthony. Lopez was spotted at the exclusive vacation town this summer with her ex one month after they announced their split.

Lopez and Anthony split this summer after seven years of marriage. They have two children together; three year-old twins Max and Emme.

That house is gorgeous. Wish her luck. Many happy years with her children.

I find all the negative comments interesting. I guess if you work hard for your money, which from everything I can see Jennifer Lopez certainly has, you aren't entitled to spend it how you choose? If she wants to buy a beautiful home in the Hamptons why shouldn't she? Her money, her choice.

Water Mill is a beautiful town and people are used to celebrities there. She will get more privacy there than in a lot of other places she might choose to live. I hope she enjoys her new home!

McMansion if I ever saw one. Where's the landscaping for that lawn? The block has changed, but Jenny hasn't.

ah yes, more self promotion. Why do we promote people of such limited talent and give them all the keys to the kingdom, so they may buy more mansions, and fill them with expensive crap, while the help struggles to feed their kids.

$18 million and it's only "almost" waterfront? What a tightwad.

Would Latino super stars be interested in advancing the causes of the Latino community?

Who has a fireplace in the kitchen? Is this a Hamptonite thing?

I do, and I live in Seattle. But my home is a home, not some monument to my own self promotion.

Wow...that chip on your shoulder is huge! This is a home to her...it's all relative. And by the standards of the area that home is hardly a monument. It's certainly not the largest home in the area by far. She worked for her money, it's her business how she spends it.

JoLo. Your new home in the Hampton's is beautiful, but just for you and your 2 children, a maid, or two and house cleaner? I wonder who else will share this home with you? Do you really need all of this? You know for sure you need to buy property with your money, because tax time Uncle Sam loves you. Too much for you to handle, which you are hardly there to enjoy...
Good Luck in all you do Ms. Lopez....

I used to have a client who was with her husband since high school, and he worked hard and sold his company for $100 mil-ish. They built a big house like this near the Hamptons, and then he became a Hampton's builder. This house came with so much staff and so many strangers on her property and in her house that she was so stressed he face was filled with acne, dark circles, and hair loss. It ain't all how it looks.

The bathroom marble is a little dizzying but it is otherwise a very lovely home. Good for her. (nn)

Yeah, the bathroom seemed out of place, but the rest was really nice. Folks are saying it is too much house, perhaps for most of us it is, but we need to remember that celebreties do not have the advantage of annonymous outings in the world and as a result probably live most of it indoors.

She will probabley renovate, I agree the marble is dizzying:)))

Not quite a Zero Lot Line Cracker Box but definitely an overpriced fancy box on a bare postage stamp piece of property. I like JLo and maybe like Anna Mae Bullock will redefine herself but then, Tina had to move to France, then Switzerland to do it. I think Switzerland is the new safe haven for many of the wealthy elite escaping the USA as it is pushed down down down down the tubes.

Umm....why does JLo have to move out of the country?????

I assume this is a serious question and you are rational so, I am going to answer you. Life in the USA forces celebrities to live constantly running from one safe haven to the other; they can't be normal and go to the grocery store or out to a movie or for a walk without being mobbed, followed and hounded by Paparazzi; they are trapped in an artificial life where they can't have normal friends or do normal things. This is also true of the wealthy to some extent; I couldn't even know who my friends were. Now, in Europe it is not the same, particularly for Americans who the police will play rough. You can find the rest of the information to digest for yourself; I too am going to leave this Madhouse.
