Kittens Scared Of Vacuum: Cute/Ridiculous Animal Thing Of The Day (VIDEO)

Because the title of this YouTube video is "Kittens have turn on a vacuum cleaner," a lot of people are saying that these little guys accidentally activate the Oreck they're climbing, but we're pretty sure the first few seconds of footage show someone off to the left dragging a white cord to an outlet in order to plug the vacuum in (it's what the white kitten is playing with).

Logistics aside, though, these little guys have no idea what's in store for them once the vacuum does turn on.

Suffice it to say: Vacuum 1, Kittens 0.

It might be funny to the owner of the kittens but if you consider the consequence it might have caused, it won't be that funny. I am a big cat-lover and I have adopted a stray cat who was left on the side of a highway. When I took him home, he was scared whenever I put my hand in front of him trying to pet him and he attacked me. I think it's because sometime ago he was being slapped by hands and now he is scared whenever he sees hands in front of him. I have to pet him behind his head so he won't see my hands. My point is that these kittens will be so scared in the future whenever they see a vacuum cleaner, and it's not good.

Several years ago some kittens were playing in my garage and accidently flipped on the switch to my air compressor, needless to say it scared the bejeebers out of them, I now keep it unpluged unless I am using it...

If someone turned this on, they should be beaten and bitten HARD, what a horrible thing to do, scare these poor little kittens. It is terrible when they are scared and I have 10 now and know it takes years to get them over the fright. On the positive side, I do have this same Oreck model and have one 9 year old who loves to ride it around and play when I am cleaning- but he knows from experience that I would NEVER, EVER scare them with it - what a marica!!!!!

Watch again...no harm done ! Got two siamese, they do this and more all the time ...And I do sneak up and scare them ! they do it to me all the time !! the chocolate point "rocky" will fly through the air and snatch your dinner right off your fork!..Locked him in basement during dinner ...He knows how to open a door now !...Had great cat's all my life !

Those kitties looked real busy like as if they were trying to hotwire the vacuum.
When the vacuum started out they probably shouted ....Ahhhhh Blow out !!! Mewowwww!!!

These were SO funny and some just like my cats. I do wish my cats liked the water like some of the little guys on the movie did, I like to give them a bath once a year and it's like I'm killing them, you should hear them!

Cute, though I agree that someone just plugged the vacuum in. About thirty years ago, I was having trouble (I thought) with an answering machine. Friends were frequently asking why I never responded to their messages when I'd received none. Finally saw the cause. Seems the "play" and "erase" buttons were in perfect alignment with the cat's steps as he walked across the dresser!

My cat Bowie would just sit there and wonder what all the fuss was about. He was born deaf, his hearing didn't fade in until he was older. Hence, now he's not afraid of vacuum. Never climbed on the vacuum as a kitten though. As he grew older my dog cookie used to go crazy on the other side of the sliding glass doors when you vacuumed the carpet beside the glass. Could hear it all the way outside. He would get really angry at the vacuum. I think the meds we gave him for his congenital skin condition had something to do with that.
